New for summer/autumn 2020!

Each month for the remainder of 2020, Tom will be hosting a three-hour storytelling workshop online. Whether you're an absolute beginner, or a seasoned teller of tales, there should be something for everyone here.

This workshop will begin at 6.30 pm on Sunday 30th August.

Tom will be exploring the art and craft of good storytelling, from finding stories to tell and how to learn them, all the way to the subtle magics employed in oral storytelling to a festival crowd. The workshop is based on one that he's been running for a number of years now, at festivals and fairs, which has always been well-received and is quite unlike anything else you might find.

The exact content of the workshop will be tailored to those attending, but the form will be in two halves, with a break and plenty of time for questions, comment and interaction - it's not just a seminar. Tom draws on twenty years of storytelling experience, including five years with Hedgespoken travelling storytelling theatre, and has a reputation for mesmerising telling and a silver-tongued, but down-to-earth style.

Thanks to some Arts Council funding, we're able to offer three free places to each of these workshops. Priority will be given to those who are from travelling cultures and refugees and migrants, but these bursaries are open to all who need them - to apply, just email us with a brief outline of your situation.

This workshop is running monthly, from July to December 2020.

We are also running a six-month storytelling course - Hedgespeaker - beginning in August 2020.
