One morning in the depths of this year's Canadian winter, I read a blog post that Rima had written in ‘The Hermitage’ in 2012 about her creation of The Alchemist painting. There was something so strangely magical about the painting that drew me in and touched me deeply. I was fascinated as Rima talked about the creation of art being a process of transformation. She also mentioned the magical threads of creativity entering and changing someone who is enthralled by a piece of art. I look forward to framing the print and hanging it in my creative area so that I am inspired not only by the painting but by my memory of Rima’s words.

Gazing at Rima Staines's artwork is like taking a little journey back in time; so full of rich detail and color, her illustrations just invite the imagination to open. Obviously Rima's work is beautiful and I've bought a few of her prints over the years. The paper and printers she is using now are just wonderful and do justice to the style and care for her subjects evident in the work.
